Reflection of Year One

This year was one of the new experiences, classes, and living spaces. I have learned a lot about myself as a student and a person, especially after completing Gen Chem. I learned a lot about planning ahead, making study groups, and dealing with stress and anxiety. There were definitely moments in college where I felt pushed and thought about changing my major or dropping out of my program, but at the end of the day, I realized that I enjoy what I am doing and just need to plan ahead more to be the most successful version of myself.

Somethings I believe I have been very successful with are: talking to the professor when I am struggling, keeping up with ‘to-dos’ in my planner, and getting involved in extracurriculars.

Something I need to improve for next year includes better note-taking skills, not waiting until the final to study, and including more time for myself to unwind/relax.

For next year, I am looking forward to being a RA in Morrill Tower, on West Campus, and working as an intern at the American Red Cross, for the fall semester. I also hope to apply as a volunteer at the James Hospital or Wexner Medical Center in the spring while studying more and diving deeper into my major.
